One key strategy to home based business marketing is to avoid becoming a product expert. Knowing all the details about your products is not important at all. Some people start their MLM business with the plan of learning everything they possibly can about their company’s products or service. Some of them actually becoming amazing experts. Problem is, that is a total waste of time.
If you were going to sell a product, it might make some sense. But you cannot build an MLM business by selling product … because you are not a salesperson. If you try to get people to buy from you, then you are dead before you start. Even worse, you won’t be able to train anyone else to sell a product.
Selling just is NOT duplicatable. Better to spend your time becoming expert on people, because in network marketing, people are your REAL product. Your real goal is to help people achieve their dreams in life. To do that, you must get to understand them. You must build trust with them. You must build a relationship. That is priority #1. Devote your time to getting good at relationship-building skills. Train yourself to be a great listener, so you understand exactly what the people you talk to want. Focus on helping them get it. To reach their dreams, they’ll buy your products … if YOU have built that relationship with them.
When you talk to anyone about joining your MLM business, one of the most important factors in their mind is the training. They need to see that you or someone in your group is doing real training, and that it’s easily accessible for them, and that it’s not an overwhelming course. And the quicker they can make money, the better.
If your training takes too long, you will lose them. They need to look at it and see “quick and easy”. The thought process is, they quickly realize that they will need help training the recruits they bring into the business. The more time they have to spend training, the less time they will have to actually bring in new people. So the ideal situation is to be part of a team that does training for all the team members and the new associates they bring in. Tell them about your team training conference calls and all the help they’ll get. Make sure they have your email & phone number, plus your sponsor’s, so they can get in touch with you whenever they need to. Your recruits want assurance that you will be there for them.
