Does MLM Product Matter in Network Marketing Business?


In a traditional business, products or services that the business is offering matter the most. If the quality of a product or service offered by a company is exceptional, it is almost guaranteed that the company will be very successful. However, In case of network marketing, this basic rule of business does not hold true. The product does not matter in case of any MLM or network marketing.

You may be surprised to learn this and may even want to vehemently oppose this principle as you love the products of your MLM business are proud of them. However, I will show you why products are not the things that you need to focus on while trying to expand your network via Internet network marketing or traditional networking.

Let us face it, any genuine network company offers excellent products. Amway, Avon, Oriflame, Herbalife all MLM giants have great products which offer excellent value for money for the buyers. So, when you are approaching a prospective lead stating that you have the best product, he/she may not agree with you. If you are offering a world-class product, many other network companies also offer that! Unfortunately, even if you passionately believe your products to be the best, the truth is that most products distributed by the top MLM network companies are of very high quality.

Another reason why it is unwise to take this approach is that all MLM network companies offer distributorships of their products to the networking individual joining the company. There is nothing new in the offer that you can become the distributor of products, which are simply amazing. If you approach a prospect this way, he/she can retort ‘So what, there are other MLM companies which offer exactly the same and why should I choose you over them?’

Therefore, the fact that you are getting to distribute high quality products should be one of the fringe benefits offered by your networking company. Products really don’t matter much when you are trying to win over a prospect irrespective of the fact that you are using traditional network marketing or Internet marketing. This does not mean that you can do away with cheap quality products. There were a few MLM companies, which tried to duplicate the success of great network marketing companies, but with poor quality products. These efforts usually sank without a trace, as the companies could build any good reputation to base its network on.

The two things that you need to focus on rather than on products are networking and marketing. Both these can be done online and offline. You can use traditional approach to generate leads. In addition, you should use Internet marketing in order to create a large network. Internet network marketing makes the whole process much easier by providing you many options to promote your business plans.
